JavaScript is a nifty programming language for the web. With only a little knowledge of how the language is structured, you can copy freeware scripts, modify them for your own uses, and dazzle people with your neato, super-interactive site.
Here are some sites for Mac people to download all the software they need, and about a hundred gazillion programs they don't need. They've got freeware, shareware, and commercial demos. They've got every breed of software you can imagine. Windows folks are on their own.
