While it may never win a prize as the world's most creatively named beach, Seaside is nonetheless a neat spot. It's located about ten miles north of Fort Bragg. It's similar to Chadbourne Gulch in that it is in bureaucratic limbo; no agency takes responsibity for enforcement of anything in particular, and there are no facilities. But it is public land, easily (perhaps too easily) accessible from the highway. I avoid Seaside during the Summer months, leaving it to the party monsters. But, during the Winter, it's one of my faves.
